Introducing Roger Eyewear

  • by: Adelaide City Optometrist
  • May 17, 2024

Roger is specially designed for those who are tired of boring eyewear. It’s for those who want to express their personality and see the world in a different perspective. For those who are looking for eyewear that suits their character and way of life.”

About Roger Eye Design

Originating in the Netherlands, Roger Eye Design is the child of Dutch optician Roger Hoppenbrouwers. Roger started his trendy business in 2007, after realising the gap in the market for people requiring smaller eye sizes and frames. He had an interest in creating something unique whilst staying affordable and high quality.

We have been waiting for this brand to arrive in our store! See below for a range of the styles we currently have available at Adelaide City Optometrist.

Standing out from the crowd – Stories

Roger has designed his range of eyewear for each capsule to have different ‘stories’. These ‘stories’ match the aesthetic of the frame and shows the creativity of the designer.  The cartoon frame is a great example of how a story matches its aesthetic. It has an outline which mimics a 3D effect (like a cartoon would). Some of the other stories are listed below:

New cartoon, Cartoon, Anime, Out-line, Tinytoon, Finetoon, One line, X-Project, All Time Favourites – and more!

Colours and shapes of Roger Eyewear

The art behind the color and shapes of Roger eyewear is a fascinating blend of fashion, psychology, and design principles. Here’s a detailed explanation:

  1. Emotional Impact: Colors have a profound effect on our emotions and perceptions. Designers use this to their advantage to create eyewear that stands out and makes a statement.
    – Bright Colors: Shades like neon green, electric blue, and vibrant red can evoke excitement, confidence, and energy. These colors are often used to make a bold statement.
    – Pastels: Softer hues like mint green, baby blue, and pink can suggest playfulness, creativity, and a more relaxed vibe.
    – Contrasting Colors: Using contrasting colors in a single design can create visual interest and draw attention to the eyewear.
  2. Unique Shapes: The design of eyewear takes into consideration different face shapes to enhance or contrast certain facial features.
    – Round Frames: These can soften angular faces and are often chosen to create a retro or whimsical look.
    – Angular Frames: Sharp, geometric shapes like rectangles or hexagons can add structure to round faces and create a modern, edgy appearance.
    – Oversized Frames: These can make a bold fashion statement and are often used to convey a sense of drama or fun.
  3. Artistic Inspiration: Many quirky eyewear designs draw from various art movements and styles.
    – Cubism: Eyewear with asymmetrical and geometric shapes can be influenced by the cubist art movement.
    – Pop Art: Bright, bold colors and playful shapes can take inspiration from pop art, emphasizing fun and eccentricity.

We have only had this brand in-store for a week and already it has piqued the interests of our customers. Visit us in-store to see the range in person.
