Much loved celebrity, Anne Wills, was recently recognised in the Queen’s Birthday Honours List. “Willsy” was awarded a Medal of Order of Australia (OAM) for service to broadcast media.
Being one of our locals, she immediately makes you feel at home. Her small stature hides the energy within “Hello Darl”.
Arriving in Adelaide in 1963, by 1965 she had made her TV debut. Willsy became a household name in Adelaide, working as the Channel 9 weather girl. Later commitments led to Adelaide Tonight with Ernie Sigley, before she hosted popular shows like AM Adelaide, Movie Scene, and Up Close With Willsy.
So, what’s Willsy’s eye style?
Anne finds it hard to go past anything with a bit of sparkle, bling or glam. LIGHTS. CAMERA. ACTION.
Of course, it needs to be coordinated with those earrings.
She will always be one of Adelaide’s icons, and dear to our hearts here at Adelaide City Optometrist.
