Can I purchase contact lenses and eye care products online?

Yes! You can order contact lenses, eye drops, lens solutions, and supplements through our online store. Simply add your desired products to the cart and proceed to checkout.

Do I need a prescription to buy contact lenses online?

Yes, Australian regulations require a valid prescription for all contact lens purchases. If you wear coloured contacts and don't require a prescription, you will be required to enter PLANO or 0.00 into the prescription box.

How long does shipping take?

Delivery times vary depending on your location:

  • Metro areas: 2-5 business days

  • Regional areas: 5-7 business days

  • Express shipping options are available at checkout.

What is your shipping policy?

We offer $10 standard shipping and $15 express shipping within Australia. Free shipping for $100 and over. Shipping times may vary based on your location and the size of your order. Please note that some products have back order periods and there may be longer waiting times. We will notify you if there is any delay.

What is your return policy?

If you receive an incorrect product, an expired product, or there are extreme delays with your product, we will offer a refund and/or replacement of the product depending on the situation. If you notice any damage on online orders when they arrive, please contact us and attach photographic evidence to info@adelaidecityoptometrist.com.au. While our products are packaged securely, please notify us of any damage due to weather or transportation.

Do you offer international shipping?

At this time, we only offer shipping within Australia. We apologise for any inconvenience.

What payment methods do you accept?

We accept major credit cards, including Visa, Mastercard, American Express. We also accept payment via PayPal and AfterPay.

How do I track my order?

Once your order has shipped, you will receive a confirmation email with a tracking number. You can use this number to track your order on our website or through the carrier's website.

Can I cancel my order?

If your order has not yet shipped, you can cancel it by contacting our customer service team. If your order has already shipped, please contact the customer service team .

Appointments and Eye Care Services

How do I book an eye test?

You can book online through our website or call us at 08 8224 0819 to schedule an appointment.

Do you bulk bill eye tests?

We offer bulk billing for individuals on the pension, or with a concession/disability card. If there is an out-of-pocket cost for a client on the pension, the cost is usually half the amount. Some specialised tests may require an out-of-pocket fee.

What does the optometrist look for?

Here is a list of what the optometrist looks for:

  • Entering visual acuity: This determines the general condition of your eyesight.
  • Muscular tests: To check the movement and alignment of the eyes.
  • Examination of the cornea and iris: Checking the pupil’s response to light.
  • Examination of the retinathe optic nerve and the macula: They are responsible for high-detail activities, like reading.
  • Retinal scans: A picture of the back of the eye is kept to monitor any changes to the retina, macula and optic nerve over time.
  • Refraction: A detailed test of the eyes focus, to determine a prescription for each eye.
  • Near Refraction: To determine the specific prescription for reading glasses.
  • Tonometry: The pressure of the fluid in the eyeball is measured. Higher pressure is an early warning sign of possible future glaucoma.
Can I get my glasses adjusted or repaired?

Yes! We offer free adjustments and minor repairs. For major repairs, these can be assessed and sent away. Visit us in-store for assistance.

Prescription Glasses and Contact Lenses

How long does it take to get prescription glasses?

Glasses are usually ready within 10 business days. If your prescription requires a stock lens, sometimes it can take between 5-8 days.

Can I use a health fund to buy glasses or contacts?

Yes, we accept all major health funds. You can claim your rebate in-store or request an itemised receipt for online claims.

Is there UV protection on the lenses?

All glasses lenses have UV protection.

Specialty Services

Do you offer myopia control for children?

Yes, we specialise in myopia management, offering treatments like orthokeratology (Ortho-K), atropine drops, and myopia control contact lenses.

What is binocular vision dysfunction (BVD), and do you test for it?

BVD can cause symptoms like headaches, dizziness, and eye strain. We offer specialized assessments to diagnose and treat BVD.

Do you provide dry eye treatments?

Yes, we offer dry eye treatments including IPL therapy, prescription eye drops, and in-office procedures.
