FAQ’s About Eye Tests

How often should I get my eyes tested?

It is recommended to have an eye test every 2 years or more often if advised by your optometrist.

Is it covered by medicare or private health?

Medicare will cover some or all of the appointment fees depending on whether you have a DVA or pension card. Private health contributes towards glasses or contacts only. 

How long does the eye test go for?

40 minutes is our standard consult time. Eye tests for first time contact lens wearers, CASA and Neuro consist of 1 hour consults. Follow ups tend to be 20 minutes.
