In this blog, we go through a variety of questions most commonly asked about Blephadex and how to tell if it’s the right product for you.

WHAT IS BLEPHADEX AND WHAT IS IT USED FOR?

Blephadex is a formula of natural ingredients, tea tree oil, and coconut oil specifically designed for eye care. The mixture of these two ingredients together forms the perfect blend to help gently care for your lashes, eyelids, and face.

WHY HAVE I BEEN RECOMMENDED BLEPHADEX?

Blephadex is recommended to treat a variety of eye conditions. However, the most common of these are Blepharitis and treating Demodex or eyelash mites. Blepharitis is a condition in which the patient develops dry, red, itchy or burning eyes, sometimes with skin flaking. Blepharitis acts as a substitute for drops for eyes to treat the problem.

Demodex mites or eyelash mites or small mites which live on or around hair molecules. They can affect all areas of our body but are most commonly noticed in our eyes due to the disruption they can cause to our sight/eye health. Blephadex treats eyelash mites by clearing the hair follicles around the eyes and with it any mites that might be there.

DO I NEED A PRESCRIPTION TO BUY BLEPHADEX?

It is important to only use Blephadex on a clean, debris-free area. Sometimes we can have dead skin cells build up and debris formation around our eyes/oil glands and this must be removed before beginning to use Blephadex. If Blephadex has been suggested to you by your eye specialist, you will be informed if your eye area needs to be cleaned before use.

If wanting to try cleaning your eye are at home, we recommend gently rinsing with warm water, and holding a warm compress to the area to loosen the debris before cleaning with your Blephadex cleansing foam or wipes.

HOW DO I PICK IF I SHOULD USE BLEPHADEX EYELID WIPES OR BLEPHADEX EYE FOAM?

The Belphadex foam and wipes use the same solution meaning the products are chemically the same, just available in 2 formations for the user’s preference. We find that the Blephadex wipes are preferred by females as they double action as makeup remover whilst cleaning your eyes.

Blephadex foam is better for cleaning the smaller and more difficult to reach places. We find elderly clients prefer Blephadex foam is can be easier to use than disposable wipes.
